From the Desk of the Principal
Currently, we serve 1500 students in Pre-School through Eighth Grade. Our students participate in: music, art, computer technology, library, and physical education classes weekly. We also have an extensive After School Program, providing intervention and enrichment activities for over 350 students. Our sports program includes: volleyball, basketball, track, soccer, and intramurals. This fall our Boys Soccer Team was crowned the Chicago Public Schools City Champions! Our students also participate in: City Science Fair, Spelling Bee, Academic Olympics, History Fair and the Young Authors Competition.
We have an active Parent Advisory Committee and a Bilingual Advisory Committee that meets regularly. We have also initiated Monthly Parent Coffees with the Principal with topics of interest to best meet the needs of our students. We have established a Parent Patrol, with the help of the Chicago Police Department, to ensure safe arrival and dismissal of our students. We welcome our parents and community members to attend our monthly LSC meeting, please fill out a Volunteer application form.
